This paper introduces a novel framework meant for content-based video indexing and retrieval using block-based local binary patterns, and pixel change ratio map (BBLBPPCRM). The proposed algorithm is tested on a video dataset of forty video, in which ten videos are air-plane type, ten videos are sailing boat type, ten videos are car type, and ten videos are war tank type. The performance of the algorithm is compared with existing methods, volume local binary patterns (VLBP), and pixel change ratio map (PCRM). The novel algorithm has shown reasonably good performance compares to existing methods.
